Running
down the same path as Dish Network’s Sling TV and Google’s YouTube TV, AT&T’s
DirecTV has also hiked their prices. The bundles will now be $5 more expensive
than before leaving the "Just Right," "Go Big," and
"Gotta Have It" packages at $55, $65, and $75 respectively.
While
the “Just Right” bundle packed a whopping 80 channels, "Go Big," and
"Gotta Have It" had 100 and 120 plus channels respectively. Call up the Sling TV customer service number for more information.
The
price hike also comes in the aftermath of the $85 billion Time Warner takeover
by AT&T, DirecTV’s parent company. Not to mention, the competition, Sling
TV and YouTube TV have also hiked their prices. DirecTV’s prices now fall in
the same range as PlayStation Vue and YouTube TV.
Defending
the price hike, the carrier argues that the price hike bring the cost of
service in line with the market and it is in the interest of consistent
delivery of best streaming experience for both new and existing users.
To
comprehend, AT&T has also launched a cheaper alternative to their now more
expensive DirecTV. With over 30 channels in their "Unlimited
&More" data plan, AT&T’s Watch TV offers a standalone service at a
mere price of $15. Although the service does lack DVR functions and doesn’t
include any sports or local channels.
On
the other hand, Apple is also getting ready to enter the TV entertainment
industry. Whispers are, Apple is developing an original slate of TV programming
to launch in year 2019. It is also rumoured that the multinational is
considering to launch Apple Music, Apple News and a video subscription service.
Although,
a video subscription service by Apple will be a competition for services like
Netflix and Amazon Prime more than it will be for DirecTV. Apple is said to be
spending around $1 billion on their video projects. If your AT&T outage and AT&t live chat then please contact ATT Email login issues services provider team.
