Netflix not working on chromecast

Google Chromecast is a great way to get the most out of your TV, especially if you don’t have a smart TV to connect to your home Wi-Fi. With Chromecast, you can send whatever’s on your pc screen to your TV set, allowing you to watch your favorite shows and Youtube videos on a bigger, better screen.

Netflix not working with Chromecast is enough to ruin your evenings, so let’s have look at the most common problems you may encounter and how to get Netflix back up and running with Chromecast.

Can’t set up Netflix on Chromecast

A few common issues will occur at this stage:
Make sure your Chromecast name doesn’t have any special characters in it (an apostrophe, a period, an emoji, and so on). The Netflix app will not recognize a name with special characters in it. Once you have changed the name of your Chromecast, try launching Netflix once again.

Make sure you have the latest version of iOS or Android on your mobile device if that’s what you’re using. If you are using Chrome, make sure you have the latest version.

Then make sure your Netflix app is up to date — you can download updates in the App Store or in Google Play. Android users will need Netflix 2.4 or higher, while Apple users need 4.2 or higher.
Lastly, make sure your device and Chromecast are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network. How to fix Netflix black screen Netflix change password and Netflix not working on smart tv.

Time to update your Netflix app
  • The issue might be with the Netflix app, rather than Chromecast.
  • Maybe you get an error pop up telling you specifically to update your Netflix app. This is an easy fix, but your operating system needs to be up to date.
  • Netflix on Chromecast is compatible with iOS 7.0 or higher on iPhones, iPads, and iPods, and phones and tablets running Android 4.0 or higher.
  • Check the App Store or Google Play for a Netflix update, keeping in mind that Android users will require Netflix 2.4 or higher, while Apple users require 4.2 or higher.

For Apple users, if the problem still exists, follow below- mention steps:
1.      On the Apple Home screen, click on Settings.
2.      Scroll down to the Netflix app.
3.      Click on Netflix down.
4.      Slide the Reset toggle to On.
5.      Click on the Home button.
6.      Click on Netflix.
7.      Re-enter your email address and password.
8.      Re-open Netflix with Chrome cast
